About the Role
Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Aircraft Mechanic specializing in Line Maintenance to join their team in Mahikeng . This role is responsible for performing routine checks, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on aircraft to ensure they are ready for flight. You will work on the tarmac, often under time constraints, collaborating with other maintenance personnel and flight crews. The ideal candidate possesses strong diagnostic skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately in a demanding operational environment within the North West province.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled line maintenance checks (e.g., A-checks) and unscheduled defect rectification on aircraft.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical discrepancies in engines, airframes, and associated systems.
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections, ensuring all systems are operational and compliant.
- Interpret technical manuals, service bulletins, and maintenance instructions to perform tasks accurately.
- Document all maintenance actions, parts used, and time recorded in the aircraft maintenance logbook in Mahikeng .
Requirements
- Hold a valid Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) license or equivalent certification.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in aircraft line maintenance.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing various aircraft mechanical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, often under pressure and time constraints.
- Strong understanding of aviation safety regulations and best practices in South Africa .
