Security Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Security Analyst to join their IT team in Mahikeng . You will play a vital role in monitoring and analyzing security threats, investigating incidents, and implementing measures to protect the organization's digital assets. This position offers the chance to work with a variety of security tools and technologies, contributing to the overall security posture of the company. You will be part of a supportive team focused on maintaining a secure IT environment for our operations in the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM and other security tools.
• Investigate potential security incidents, analyze logs, and determine the scope and impact.
• Assist in the development and execution of incident response plans.
• Perform vulnerability scanning and assist in tracking remediation efforts.
• Contribute to the creation and updating of security policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a security analyst or similar role.
• Familiarity with security concepts, networking, and common threats.
• Experience with security monitoring tools is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
