About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Media Relations Executive to join their vibrant communications team in Stellenbosch . You will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with journalists, broadcasters, and online media platforms to secure positive coverage for the organization. This role is essential for managing the company's public image and ensuring effective communication of its key messages and achievements in the local and national media landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively identify and engage with media contacts to pitch stories and secure coverage.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive media contact database.
• Write and distribute press releases, media kits, and other relevant communication materials.
• Monitor media coverage and report on the effectiveness of PR initiatives.
• Respond to media inquiries and manage interview requests.
• Provide strategic advice on media engagement and crisis communication preparedness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in media relations, preferably within a corporate or agency setting.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with media professionals.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong storytelling capabilities.
