About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and customer-focused Leisure Centre Attendant to join their team at a busy facility in Benoni . This role involves ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the centre, assisting patrons, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors. You will be responsible for a range of duties, including customer service, facility upkeep, and monitoring activity areas. The ideal candidate is proactive, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, and has a commitment to providing outstanding service within the Leisure & Sports sector, contributing to a positive experience for every community member using the facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist centre visitors, providing information about facilities, activities, and schedules.
• Monitor activity areas (e.g., swimming pool, sports courts, gym) to ensure safety and adherence to rules.
• Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties to keep the centre tidy and presentable.
• Operate the reception desk, handle bookings, and manage membership inquiries.
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve minor issues or elevate them to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment for various activities and events.

Requirements

• Previous experience in customer service or a similar role, preferably within a Leisure Centre or hospitality environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and helpful attitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to tasks.
• Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
