Telecoms Network Operations Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Telecoms Network Operations Manager to lead their network operations team in Upington . This leadership role is responsible for the overall health, performance, and reliability of the company's telecommunications network infrastructure. You will manage a team of skilled professionals, oversee daily operations, implement best practices, and ensure the continuous delivery of high-quality services to customers. This is a critical position for an individual with strong leadership capabilities and extensive experience in managing complex telecom networks.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor a team of network operations engineers and technicians.


• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the telecommunications network, ensuring maximum uptime and performance.


• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices (e.g., ITIL).


• Manage incident response, troubleshooting, and resolution processes for network outages and performance degradations.


• Monitor network performance metrics, generate reports, and identify areas for improvement.


• Collaborate with planning, engineering, and security teams to ensure operational readiness for network changes and upgrades.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.


• Minimum of 7 years of experience in network operations, with at least 3 years in a management or team lead role.


• Strong understanding of telecom network infrastructure , including IP routing, switching, wireless, and transmission systems.


• Proven experience managing large-scale network operations centers (NOCs).


• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.


• Familiarity with network monitoring, management, and automation tools.
