Therapist - Addiction Services

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled and empathetic Therapist to join their dedicated Addiction Services team in Bloemfontein . This role is central to providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions for individuals struggling with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. You will work directly with clients to develop treatment plans, facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, and support them through their recovery journey. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments to diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans for clients with addiction issues.
• Provide individual therapy, utilizing evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI).
• Facilitate psychoeducational and support group sessions for clients and their families.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical professionals and case managers, to ensure integrated care.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely client records in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Offer crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute withdrawal or emotional distress.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
• Relevant professional registration (e.g., HPCSA for Psychologists, SACSSP for Social Workers).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in addiction counseling or therapy.
• Proficiency in various therapeutic techniques for addiction and mental health treatment.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and active listening skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work collaboratively within a team setting.
