About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Underwriter specializing in Commercial Lines to join their fully remote, expanding team. This role is crucial for evaluating and pricing complex commercial insurance risks, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth for the company. Key Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite new and renewal commercial insurance applications, evaluating risks and determining appropriate terms, conditions, and pricing.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and agents, providing expert advice and service to support business retention and growth.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and loss data to inform underwriting strategies and portfolio management.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of underwriting guidelines, products, and rating tools.
• Collaborate with claims, actuarial, and sales teams to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management and customer service.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting, with a strong understanding of various business sectors.
• Proven ability to underwrite complex risks and manage a profitable book of business.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for remote collaboration and broker engagement.
• Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., ACII, CIP) are highly desirable.
