Field Service Technician - Heavy Machinery

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled and hands-on Field Service Technician to service and maintain heavy machinery in and around Vereeniging . This critical role involves providing on-site technical support, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure maximum uptime for our clients' equipment. You will be the face of our company in the field, building strong customer relationships through reliable and efficient service. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, and thrives in a dynamic, mobile work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
• Respond promptly to service calls and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in the field.
• Communicate effectively with customers to explain technical issues and repair processes.
• Maintain accurate service records, parts inventory, and service vehicle condition.
• Ensure all work performed meets quality standards and safety regulations.
• Provide basic operator training on equipment use and maintenance as needed.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Field Service Technician or similar role, with a strong mechanical background.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment specific to heavy machinery is essential.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
