About the Role

Our client is seeking a versatile and experienced Event Chef - Mobile Kitchens to lead culinary operations for events managed via mobile catering units in and around Upington. This dynamic role requires a skilled chef who can adapt culinary expertise to various event types and locations, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation from potentially unique kitchen setups. You will be responsible for menu execution, team coordination within the mobile unit, inventory management, and maintaining stringent hygiene standards. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for diverse cuisine, excellent practical cooking skills, and the ability to thrive in a mobile, fast-paced, and often challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook diverse menus for catered events, utilizing mobile kitchen facilities effectively.


• Oversee the setup and operation of mobile kitchen units, ensuring all equipment functions correctly and safely.


• Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies for each event, ensuring quality and adequate stock levels.


• Lead and mentor kitchen staff working within the mobile unit, fostering teamwork and efficiency.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Chef, with specific experience in event catering or mobile food services.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage logistics for mobile units.
