About the Role

Our client is looking for a vigilant and analytical Cybersecurity Threat Analyst to join their Security Operations Center (SOC) team, remotely supporting operations based in Pretoria. This role is dedicated to the proactive identification, analysis, and response to cyber threats targeting the organization. You will be at the forefront of threat intelligence, investigating suspicious activities and developing strategies to defend against sophisticated attacks. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts and threat intelligence feeds for potential security incidents.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of cyber threats, malware, and attack vectors.
• Investigate security breaches and provide timely incident response and forensic analysis.
• Develop and refine threat detection rules and signatures for security monitoring tools.
• Produce regular threat landscape reports and provide actionable intelligence to security teams.
• Collaborate with threat hunters and incident responders to enhance overall security posture.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in a cybersecurity operations or threat analysis role.
• Proficiency in analyzing security logs, network traffic, and malware samples.
• Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK).
• Strong understanding of operating systems, networking protocols, and common attack techniques.
