Architectural BIM Specialist

About the Role

Our client, a prestigious architectural practice in Cape Town , is looking for an innovative Architectural BIM Specialist to enhance their digital design capabilities. This critical role involves leading the implementation and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows across a variety of significant projects. You will be responsible for developing BIM standards, training staff, and ensuring the efficient integration of BIM technologies to improve design coordination, reduce errors, and optimize project delivery. This position is based in our vibrant Cape Town office, offering a chance to work on landmark developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain office-wide BIM standards, protocols, and content libraries.
• Lead BIM implementation on projects, ensuring adherence to client and industry requirements.
• Provide training and technical support to architectural and design teams on BIM software and workflows.
• Collaborate with project teams to optimize BIM models for design, analysis, and documentation.
• Identify and implement new technologies and workflows to enhance BIM capabilities.
• Troubleshoot BIM-related issues and ensure data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a BIM Specialist or similar role within an architectural or construction environment.
• Expertise in Revit and a strong understanding of other BIM software and platforms.
• Knowledge of BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650) and best practices.
• Excellent training and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.
• Experience in creating and managing BIM content libraries.
• A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
