Agricultural Equipment Technician

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Agricultural Equipment Technician to maintain and repair their fleet of machinery in Mahikeng . This role is essential for ensuring the optimal functioning of tractors, harvesters, planters, and other farm equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with agricultural machinery, and the ability to diagnose and resolve a wide range of technical issues, ensuring that all equipment is safe and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on various agricultural machines and vehicles.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues with farm equipment.
• Conduct pre-season inspections and ensure all machinery is in optimal working condition.
• Order and manage inventory of spare parts and supplies.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
• Ensure a high standard of safety in the workshop and when operating machinery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a mechanic or technician, with a focus on agricultural or heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagnostic tools.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools for repair work.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
