AI Ethicist & Governance Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a principled and analytical AI Ethicist & Governance Specialist to establish and oversee responsible AI practices within their organization, located in Centurion . In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing frameworks, policies, and guidelines to ensure that AI systems are developed and deployed ethically, transparently, and with a focus on fairness and accountability. You will work closely with legal, engineering, product, and research teams to embed ethical considerations throughout the AI lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive AI ethics policies and governance frameworks.
• Conduct ethical risk assessments and impact analyses for new AI projects and deployments.
• Advise product and engineering teams on ethical considerations, bias mitigation, and fairness in AI systems.
• Stay abreast of evolving global regulations and best practices in AI ethics and governance.
• Facilitate training and awareness programs on responsible AI development and deployment across the organization.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in Law, Philosophy, Public Policy, Computer Science, or a related field with a specialization in ethics or technology.
• Demonstrated experience in ethical AI, technology policy, or corporate governance.
• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, capabilities, and potential societal impacts.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
