About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer with expertise in power systems to join their growing team in George . You will be instrumental in the design, development, and implementation of electrical infrastructure for energy projects, ensuring reliability and efficiency. This role involves close collaboration with project managers, technicians, and other engineering disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, contributing to the successful execution of critical energy infrastructure projects within the Western Cape region.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer electrical systems, including distribution networks, substations, and protection schemes.
- Perform load flow, short circuit, and stability studies using industry-standard software.
- Develop technical specifications, drawings, and documentation for electrical equipment and installations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project planning, execution, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical engineering issues during project lifecycle and in operational phases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power systems.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software such as ETAP, PSS/E, or similar.
- Solid understanding of electrical codes (e.g., SANS) and safety standards.
- Experience with project management principles and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
