About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and proactive Athletic Recruitment Specialist to join their dynamic team in Bloemfontein. This role is central to identifying, attracting, and securing talented student-athletes for the institution's various sports programs. You will be responsible for building relationships with prospective athletes, their families, and coaches, managing the recruitment pipeline, and ensuring compliance with all recruitment regulations. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong understanding of collegiate sports and exceptional networking and evaluation skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic recruitment plans for assigned sports programs.
- Identify and evaluate prospective student-athletes through scouting, game analysis, and data review.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with high school coaches, club teams, and junior athletic organizations.
- Organize and conduct campus visits, informational sessions, and recruitment events.
- Manage the recruitment database, track prospect progress, and ensure timely communication.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to align recruitment efforts with program needs and institutional goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Education, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in athletic recruitment or collegiate coaching.
- Strong knowledge of NCAA or equivalent sports regulations and compliance standards.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to network effectively and build rapport with diverse individuals.
- Experience in evaluating athletic talent and identifying potential for collegiate success in Bloemfontein.
