Operations Manager - Mining Energy Services

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to oversee energy services within the mining sector in Rustenburg . This vital role requires a strategic leader adept at managing complex operational logistics, ensuring the continuous and efficient supply of power to large-scale mining facilities. You will be responsible for optimizing energy usage, managing operational budgets, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in industrial operations, particularly within mining or heavy industry, and a proven ability to drive operational excellence and cost efficiencies in a demanding environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage day-to-day operations of energy supply and management systems for mining sites.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance reliability.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies across all operations.
• Manage budgets, resource allocation, and capital expenditure for the operations division.
• Lead and develop a team of operational staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Liaise with key stakeholders, including mine management, regulatory bodies, and suppliers, to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical) or Operations Management.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in operations management, preferably within the mining or heavy industrial sector .
• Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale operational budgets and P&L responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of industrial energy systems , maintenance, and operational best practices.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to manage safety and environmental compliance in a high-risk industry.
