Airline Fleet Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic Airline Fleet Manager to oversee their aircraft fleet operations based in Vereeniging. You will be responsible for managing the lifecycle of the airline's aircraft, including acquisition, maintenance planning, operational performance, and eventual disposal, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance. This senior role requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and a comprehensive understanding of aviation regulations and market dynamics. You will play a crucial part in optimizing fleet utilization and supporting the airline's long-term strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement fleet management strategies to optimize aircraft utilization and operational efficiency.


• Oversee all aspects of aircraft maintenance programs, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance planning and execution.


• Manage relationships with aircraft manufacturers, maintenance providers, and regulatory bodies.


• Analyze fleet performance data to identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement.


• Lead negotiations for aircraft acquisition, leasing, and financing arrangements.


• Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in fleet management within the airline industry or a related aviation sector.


• Proven track record in managing aircraft maintenance, operations, and financial aspects of fleet operations.


• Strong understanding of aviation regulations, airworthiness directives, and maintenance standards.


• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.


• Proficiency in fleet management software and data analysis tools.


• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
