Supervising Driver - Goods Distribution

About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated and experienced Supervising Driver to oversee goods distribution operations in Polokwane . In this role, you will not only drive but also supervise a small team of drivers, ensuring efficient route planning, adherence to delivery schedules, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. You will be responsible for the effective management of delivery operations in the Limpopo province, acting as a key point of contact for operational issues and contributing to the overall success of the logistics department.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive commercial vehicles to transport goods to customers, ensuring timely and safe deliveries.
• Supervise and guide a team of delivery drivers, providing support and direction.
• Plan and optimize daily delivery routes for the team, considering efficiency and customer needs.
• Ensure all drivers adhere to company policies, traffic laws, and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections and oversee basic maintenance checks.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve delivery-related issues promptly.

Requirements

• Valid Code 14 driver's license with a clean record and valid PDP.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in driving and delivery, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team lead role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Knowledge of Polokwane and surrounding transport routes.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
