About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Pharmaceutical Microbiologist to ensure the microbial safety and quality of their products in Mahikeng . This role is essential for conducting microbiological testing, maintaining sterile environments, and implementing robust contamination control strategies. You will work within a dedicated quality control laboratory, performing critical analyses that safeguard product integrity and patient health. This position requires a strong understanding of microbial principles, aseptic techniques, and regulatory compliance within the pharmaceutical manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental monitoring samples.
- Conduct sterility testing, microbial limit testing, and endotoxin testing using validated methods.
- Operate and maintain microbiological laboratory equipment, including incubators, autoclaves, biosafety cabinets, and microscopes.
- Investigate microbial excursions and deviations, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, including test results, instrument logs, and deviation reports, in compliance with GMP .
- Ensure adherence to aseptic techniques and environmental monitoring programs to prevent microbial contamination.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related life science discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical microbiology or a related industrial setting.
- Proficiency in microbiological testing techniques, aseptic processing, and environmental monitoring.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and relevant pharmacopoeial methods (e.g., USP, EP).
- Experience with microbial identification techniques and basic laboratory instrumentation.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work effectively in a laboratory environment.
