Bioprocess Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Bioprocess Engineer to join their cutting-edge research and development team located in Klerksdorp . This role focuses on the development, optimization, and scale-up of biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize microbial or mammalian cell culture processes for the production of biologics.
• Perform process validation, scale-up studies, and technology transfer activities.
• Monitor and control bioprocess parameters to ensure product quality and yield.
• Troubleshoot process deviations and implement corrective actions to maintain process performance.
• Collaborate with R&D scientists, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations on process development activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in biopharmaceutical process development or manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with bioreactor operation, cell culture, fermentation, and downstream processing.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., GMP) relevant to biopharmaceutical manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly.
