Medical Science Liaison (MSL) - Oncology

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly scientific Medical Science Liaison (MSL) with a specialization in Oncology to cover the Sandton and surrounding areas. As an MSL, you will be the key scientific and medical communicator between the company and key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the medical community. Your role involves providing deep scientific and clinical insights into our oncology portfolio, supporting research, and fostering scientific exchange. This role requires significant travel within your designated territory and offers a fantastic opportunity to engage with leading oncologists and researchers in Gauteng.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals in the oncology field.
• Provide scientific and clinical information regarding the company's oncology products and pipeline in a balanced and objective manner.
• Support investigator-initiated studies (IIS) and company-sponsored clinical trials.
• Gather insights from KOLs and the medical community to inform R&D and strategic decision-making.
• Deliver scientific presentations and educational programs to healthcare providers and internal teams.
• Serve as a scientific expert resource for internal commercial and medical affairs teams.

Requirements

• Advanced degree (Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., D.V.M.) in a life science or related healthcare field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a medical affairs role, preferably as an MSL, or extensive clinical/research experience in oncology.
• Deep understanding of oncology, including disease states, treatment paradigms, and clinical trial methodologies.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with KOLs and engage in high-level scientific discussions.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the territory, including overnight stays, in and around Sandton.
