Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

Our client, a technology leader in the renewable energy sector, is seeking an accomplished Senior Software Engineer to join their dedicated team in Upington . This role is essential for designing, developing, and deploying high-quality software solutions that power critical business operations. You will play a key part in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering and design to implementation and testing. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust, scalable, and maintainable software applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, QA engineers, and other developers, to define project requirements and deliver solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and junior engineers.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making processes to improve system design and performance in Upington .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or Go.
• Experience with database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and object-relational mapping (ORM) frameworks.
• Solid understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
