Transportation Engineer - Eastern Cape Projects

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Transportation Engineer to join their team in Port Elizabeth , focusing on enhancing the region's transportation network. This role is key to planning, designing, and implementing efficient and safe transport infrastructure, including roads, highways, and public transit systems. You will work closely with local authorities and project stakeholders to deliver solutions that improve mobility and connectivity across the Eastern Cape. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and manage transportation infrastructure projects, including road networks and intersections.
• Conduct traffic studies, demand forecasting, and capacity analyses.
• Prepare detailed design reports, drawings, and specifications for transportation systems.
• Ensure adherence to national and international transportation engineering standards and best practices.
• Liaise with government agencies, contractors, and community groups to address project needs.
• Evaluate existing transportation systems and recommend improvements for safety and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, with a focus on Transportation Engineering.
• Professional registration with ECSA is preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in transportation planning and design.
• Proficiency in transportation planning and modeling software (e.g., PTV Vissim, TransCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D).
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, road design standards, and safety management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
