Community Engagement Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and engaging Community Engagement Officer to foster stronger connections within the Paarl community. This role is dedicated to building trust, understanding community needs, and mobilizing local participation in our client's initiatives. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to reach diverse community groups, facilitate dialogue, and encourage involvement in programs. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of community dynamics, and a passion for social good within the Western Cape region.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to increase community participation and engagement in programs.
• Organize and facilitate community meetings, consultations, and events.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, residents, and local organizations.
• Gather community feedback and insights to inform program development and improvements.
• Promote awareness of our client's services and impact through various communication channels.

Requirements

• Experience in community development, public relations, or a related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to engage with diverse community groups and build rapport.
• Strong understanding of the social and economic landscape of Paarl .
