Senior Sound Designer - Film & Media

Our client, a prominent player in the Arts & Entertainment industry, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Sound Designer . This hybrid position, based in Stellenbosch , will involve crafting immersive and compelling audio experiences for film, television, and interactive media projects. You will be responsible for the entire sound design process, from conceptualization and recording to mixing and final delivery. This role requires a deep understanding of audio technology, a creative ear, and the ability to collaborate effectively with production teams to elevate the storytelling through sound.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, create, and implement sound effects, Foley, dialogue, and musical elements for various media projects.
• Record, edit, and mix audio assets to create a cohesive and immersive soundscape.
• Collaborate with directors, producers, and other creative team members to achieve the desired sonic vision.
• Manage sound libraries and ensure the efficient organization and archiving of audio assets.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in audio technology, software, and sound design techniques.
• Ensure all audio deliverables meet the technical specifications and quality standards for broadcast and distribution.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Sound Designer in film, television, or gaming.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating diverse soundscapes and audio for narrative content.
• Proficiency in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, or Ableton Live.
• Experience with sound editing, mixing, mastering, and audio restoration techniques.
• Knowledge of acoustic principles and audio signal flow.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a keen ear for detail.
