Fleet Manager - Regional Operations

About the Role

Our client is recruiting a seasoned Fleet Manager to oversee regional operations in Pretoria . This senior role involves managing a diverse fleet of vehicles, ensuring operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. You will lead a team of drivers and maintenance personnel, implement best practices in fleet management, and contribute to strategic planning for fleet expansion and upgrades. This is a critical leadership position requiring strong analytical skills, extensive experience in fleet operations, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of service and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the daily operations of the company's vehicle fleet, including scheduling and routing.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance programs, ensuring all vehicles are serviced regularly and kept in optimal working condition.
• Monitor fleet performance, analyze data, and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Ensure compliance with all national and provincial transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Manage and develop the team of drivers and mechanics, fostering a culture of safety and performance.
• Develop and manage the annual fleet budget, including capital expenditures for vehicle acquisition and replacement.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) in a fleet management or senior logistics role.
• Strong understanding of fleet maintenance, repair, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing a team of drivers and/or maintenance staff.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred.
