About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development and execution of renewable energy projects in Benoni . This role involves the electrical design, planning, and oversight of solar and wind farm installations, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and grid connection requirements. You will work closely with project managers, site teams, and external stakeholders to deliver sustainable energy solutions. The ideal candidate has a passion for renewable energy and a proven track record in managing complex electrical projects within this sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical design for solar and wind power systems, including PV array sizing, inverter selection, and grid interconnection studies.
- Develop electrical single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring layouts.
- Manage the procurement of electrical equipment and materials for renewable energy projects.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical components on-site.
- Ensure compliance with national and international standards for electrical installations and safety.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues that arise during project construction and operation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a significant focus on renewable energy systems.
- Knowledge of grid-tied and off-grid renewable energy systems.
- Familiarity with relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NRS, IEC).
- Proficiency in electrical design and simulation software.
- Experience with project management principles and site supervision.
