About the Role

Our client is seeking a distinguished and strategic leader to serve as their Head of Legal in the prestigious business hub of Sandton . This senior executive role is responsible for overseeing all legal affairs of the organization, including corporate governance, compliance, risk management, and litigation. You will lead a team of legal professionals, providing strategic direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality legal services across the group. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership qualities, extensive experience in corporate law, and a proven ability to manage complex legal challenges in a fast-paced, sophisticated business environment. This is a leadership position with significant influence over the company's legal strategy and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the company's overall legal strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Oversee all aspects of corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Manage and direct the legal department's operations, including budgeting and resource allocation.
• Provide expert legal counsel to the Board of Directors and senior management.
• Oversee all litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution matters.
• Ensure the company adheres to all applicable laws and regulations across its jurisdictions.

Requirements

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court with a minimum of 10 years of senior legal experience, preferably in a leadership role.
• Extensive expertise in corporate law, commercial contracts, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience in managing legal teams and providing strategic legal advice at an executive level.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Strong business acumen and ability to understand complex financial and operational matters.
• Experience working within a sophisticated corporate environment in Sandton or similar.
