About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Farm Supervisor to lead a significant section of their agricultural operations in Benoni, Gauteng . This role combines hands-on field management with strategic oversight, including remote participation in planning and reporting meetings. You will be responsible for managing teams, optimizing crop production, ensuring efficient resource utilization, and contributing to the overall success of the farm. This is a leadership position requiring strong agronomic knowledge and excellent supervisory skills, offering the chance to make a substantial impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct all field operations for assigned crops, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Manage, train, and mentor a team of farm workers and junior supervisors.
• Monitor crop development, implement pest and disease control strategies, and manage irrigation schedules.
• Ensure efficient use of resources, including labor, machinery, and inputs, while managing budgets.
• Contribute to strategic planning sessions and provide regular operational reports, including remotely when applicable.
• Champion a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (5+ years) in farm supervision or management, with a strong focus on crop production.
• In-depth knowledge of agronomy, plant pathology, and soil science relevant to the region.
• Proven leadership capabilities with experience managing diverse teams.
• Ability to effectively manage on-site operations and participate in remote planning and reporting.
• Proficiency in agricultural software and data analysis for decision-making.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
