About the Role

Our client, a renowned sports academy in Pretoria , is seeking an experienced and high-caliber Senior Cricket Coach to lead its elite junior development program. This role involves providing advanced coaching and strategic guidance to talented young cricketers, with a focus on skill enhancement, tactical understanding, and mental fortitude. You will work closely with player performance analysts and other coaches to create a nurturing yet challenging environment that prepares athletes for high-level competition. This is a vital position for shaping the next generation of cricketing talent in Gauteng and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement advanced cricket coaching programs for elite junior players, focusing on batting, bowling, fielding, and strategy.
• Conduct specialized training sessions, providing personalized feedback and performance analysis to individual athletes.
• Mentor and guide assistant coaches, ensuring a unified and effective coaching philosophy across the program.
• Develop strategic game plans for team matches and tournaments, analyzing opposition and player capabilities.
• Oversee player development pathways, including strength and conditioning, nutrition, and injury prevention strategies.
• Foster a positive, disciplined, and performance-driven team culture within the academy in Pretoria .

Requirements

• Extensive experience (7+ years) coaching cricket at junior or senior representative levels.
• Relevant coaching qualifications from Cricket South Africa or an equivalent international body.
• Proven track record of developing players who have progressed to higher levels of the sport.
• Excellent understanding of modern cricket techniques, strategies, and performance analysis tools.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire young athletes.
• Familiarity with the cricketing landscape in Gauteng and national junior development structures.
