About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Loss Prevention Specialist to join their team in Pretoria. This role is critical in identifying and mitigating potential risks that could lead to financial losses for the company and its clients. You will conduct thorough risk assessments, implement preventative measures, and investigate incidents to minimize exposure. This position requires a strong presence on-site, working closely with various departments to ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies, contributing directly to operational efficiency and financial stability within the insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of company operations and client sites to identify potential hazards.
• Develop and implement effective loss prevention strategies and safety programs.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Educate employees and clients on safety procedures, regulatory compliance, and risk management best practices.
• Monitor and analyze loss data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting, claims, and operations, to ensure a cohesive approach to risk management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in loss prevention, risk management, or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, and risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
• Effective communication and training abilities.
• Ability to conduct site visits and travel within the Pretoria region as needed.
