Sanitation Technician - Industrial Cleaning

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Sanitation Technician to join their essential cleaning and sanitation team in Johannesburg. This role is crucial for maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and safety across industrial facilities. You will be responsible for implementing and executing comprehensive cleaning protocols to ensure a sterile and safe working environment. Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed cleaning and disinfection of industrial machinery, equipment, and workspaces using approved chemicals and methods.
• Conduct routine inspections of sanitation equipment and supplies, reporting any issues or shortages.
• Safely handle and dispose of waste materials according to environmental and company regulations.
• Follow strict health and safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain accurate logs of cleaning activities, chemicals used, and any encountered hazards.
• Respond promptly to spills or contamination incidents, executing emergency cleanup procedures efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience in industrial cleaning or sanitation roles.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, their safe handling, and application.
• Familiarity with industrial hygiene standards and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
• Good understanding of English for following instructions and safety guidelines.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends if required by operational needs.
