Structural Civil Engineer

Our client in Vereeniging is seeking a highly competent Structural Civil Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is primarily office-based, with potential for site visits, focusing on the structural design of buildings and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, safety, and durability of structures through meticulous analysis and design. This is a key position requiring a deep understanding of structural principles and materials, contributing to the built environment in the Gauteng region and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other civil infrastructure.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using relevant software.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
• Collaborate with architects, project managers, and other engineers to integrate structural designs.
• Review shop drawings and respond to site queries during the construction phase.
• Ensure designs comply with the National Building Regulations (NBR) and SANS standards.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• ECSA registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) is essential.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in structural engineering design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Prokon, SAP2000, ETABS).
• Strong knowledge of concrete, steel, and masonry design codes.
• Experience with foundation design and soil-structure interaction is an advantage.
