Endpoint Security Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Endpoint Security Specialist to join their cybersecurity team. This role is vital for protecting the organization's endpoints, including laptops, desktops, and mobile devices, from malware, unauthorized access, and other threats. You will be responsible for deploying, managing, and optimizing endpoint security solutions, as well as responding to endpoint-related security incidents. This position offers a great opportunity to work in a hands‑on security role within a dynamic team in Soweto .

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and maintain endpoint security solutions, including antivirus, EDR, and host-based firewalls.
• Monitor endpoint security alerts and investigate potential threats and compromises.
• Develop and implement policies and configurations for endpoint security tools to ensure consistent protection.
• Respond to and remediate endpoint security incidents, including malware infections and unauthorized access attempts.
• Perform regular vulnerability assessments and security hardening of endpoint devices.
• Stay current with emerging endpoint threats and security technologies to enhance protection strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of experience in IT security, with a focus on endpoint security technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint).
• Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common endpoint vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of network security principles and common attack vectors.
• Good analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot effectively in a physical or office setting.
