Caregiver - Residential Facility

About the Role

Our client seeks a compassionate and reliable Caregiver to join their residential facility team in Richards Bay. This role is essential in providing a high standard of personalized care and support to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will assist residents with daily living activities, provide companionship, and foster a warm and supportive home environment. This position is based in the beautiful coastal town of KwaZulu-Natal and is ideal for individuals with a genuine passion for elder care and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those they serve.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, with dignity and respect.
• Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any changes in health status, reporting observations to the nursing staff.
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and assist residents with eating as needed.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities, conversation, and social interaction to promote their emotional and mental well-being.
• Maintain a clean and safe living environment for all residents, ensuring adherence to health and safety protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Caregiver or in a similar healthcare support role.
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is essential.
• Demonstrated ability to perform personal care tasks with compassion and efficiency.
• Strong observational skills and the ability to respond effectively to residents' needs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, patience, and a nurturing disposition.
