Civil Engineer - Water & Sanitation Projects

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent Civil Engineer specializing in water and sanitation projects to join their team in Mahikeng , North West . This role is vital for the design, implementation, and maintenance of essential water supply and wastewater treatment infrastructure critical to the region's development and public health. You will contribute to projects that ensure access to clean water and effective sanitation services for communities, working closely with municipal bodies and contractors to achieve project objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Design and plan water supply networks, treatment plants, and distribution systems.
• Develop and implement wastewater collection systems, treatment processes, and discharge management plans.
• Conduct feasibility studies, prepare detailed designs, specifications, and cost estimates for water and sanitation projects.
• Ensure compliance with South African National Standards (SANS) for water and sanitation, as well as environmental regulations.
• Manage construction activities, including site supervision, quality control, and progress monitoring.
• Liaise with municipal officials, community leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure project alignment and success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and management of water and sanitation projects .
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., EPANET, WaterGEMS) and design tools.
• Strong understanding of water treatment technologies, wastewater processes, and relevant engineering standards.
• Experience with project management and contract administration.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr. Tech Eng) registration is preferred.
