About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned and strategic Transportation Manager to lead their transportation operations in the Upington region. This role is responsible for the overall management of inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of goods. You will develop and implement transportation strategies, manage carrier relationships, and optimize the entire transportation network. This is a pivotal position for an experienced logistics professional looking to drive significant improvements in a key operational area.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive transportation strategies and policies.
- Oversee all aspects of freight management, including carrier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Manage a team of logistics coordinators and planners, providing guidance and support.

Requirements

- Significant experience in a Transportation Manager role or equivalent senior logistics position.
- Proven track record in optimizing transportation networks and managing carrier relationships.
- Strong understanding of transportation laws, regulations, and best practices.
