About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Natural Language Processing (NLP) Engineer to join their innovative team in Sandton . You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying NLP models and applications that enable machines to understand, interpret, and generate human language. This role involves working with large text datasets, implementing advanced NLP techniques, and integrating these capabilities into various products and services. You will collaborate with data scientists and software engineers to tackle complex challenges in areas like sentiment analysis, machine translation, chatbots, and text summarization, driving advancements in human-computer interaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement state-of-the-art NLP models for tasks such as text classification, entity recognition, and question answering.
• Process and analyze large volumes of unstructured text data using various NLP techniques.
• Build and maintain NLP pipelines for feature extraction, model training, and evaluation.
• Collaborate with product teams to define requirements and integrate NLP features into applications.

Requirements

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or a related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in developing and deploying NLP models and applications.
• Strong programming skills in Python and proficiency with NLP libraries (e.g., NLTK, spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers).
• Experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for NLP tasks.
• Solid understanding of linguistic concepts and machine learning principles.
