Remote Mine Planning Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Mine Planning Engineer for a fully remote position. You will be instrumental in developing short-term and long-term mine plans that optimize resource extraction, maximize economic value, and ensure operational safety and environmental sustainability. This role demands a strategic thinker with exceptional skills in mine design software and a deep understanding of geological and geotechnical data. Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with site-based operations, exploration teams, and management to create efficient and effective mining strategies, contributing to the company's growth and success from anywhere.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed short-term and long-term mine plans, schedules, and production forecasts.
• Optimize mine designs for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness, considering geological and geotechnical constraints.
• Utilize advanced mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Vulcan, Minesight) for design and simulation.
• Conduct economic evaluations of different mining scenarios and methodologies.
• Liaise with site operations, engineering, and management teams to ensure plan feasibility and execution.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on mine plans and production strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine planning and design, preferably in open-pit or underground mining.
• Proficiency with industry-standard mine planning software.
• Strong understanding of mining methods, equipment capabilities, and operational sequencing.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
