Project Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Project Electrical Engineer to join their team based in George . This role is crucial for managing and executing electrical aspects of diverse projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from initial planning and design to final implementation and handover. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills combined with robust technical expertise in electrical engineering principles, contributing to the successful completion of projects in the Western Cape region and collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all electrical engineering activities for assigned projects, from conception through to completion.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans for electrical components.
• Coordinate with design teams to ensure electrical designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee site installations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and technical standards, conducting quality inspections.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure clear communication and efficient project progress.
• Identify and mitigate project risks related to electrical systems, proactively addressing any challenges that arise.

Requirements

• B.Eng or B.Sc in Electrical Engineering; Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng) registration is highly advantageous.
• At least 5 years of experience in project management within the electrical engineering sector.
• Demonstrated success in managing projects from initiation to closure, with a strong focus on electrical systems.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and electrical design tools .
• Solid understanding of contract administration and procurement processes.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
