About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior AI Systems Engineer to join their high-performance engineering team in Upington . This role is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing the infrastructure that supports our advanced AI and machine learning operations. You will work on scalable systems, ensuring efficiency, reliability, and performance for our AI development and deployment pipelines. This is a critical position for an individual passionate about the intersection of systems engineering and cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and robust AI/ML infrastructure, including compute clusters, storage solutions, and networking.
- Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment of AI models.
- Optimize system performance and resource utilization for AI workloads, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure the health and availability of AI infrastructure.
- Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to support their infrastructure needs and troubleshoot complex issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or MLOps.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and experience with infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Strong understanding of machine learning principles and the challenges of deploying AI models at scale.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
