Senior Operations Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Operations Engineer to join their dynamic team in Vereeniging . This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence by optimizing production processes, enhancing system reliability, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. You will work in a hybrid model, combining on-site operational analysis with remote data interpretation and strategic planning. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, extensive experience in process improvement, and a proven ability to lead complex projects. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize complex operational and production systems to maximize efficiency, throughput, and resource utilization.
• Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement, employing lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Lead cross-functional teams in identifying root causes of operational issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Design and manage process improvement projects, ensuring timely and successful completion within budget.
• Oversee the implementation of new technologies and methodologies to enhance operational performance.
• Prepare detailed performance reports, including cost-benefit analyses and recommendations for senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in operations engineering, process improvement, or a similar role.
• Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), and other operational excellence methodologies.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and lead diverse teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities, suitable for a hybrid work environment.
