Field Service Technician - Renewable Energy

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and technically proficient Field Service Technician to join their team in Benoni , Gauteng , focusing on Renewable Energy installations and maintenance. You will be responsible for the on-site installation, troubleshooting, repair, and routine maintenance of solar power systems and associated equipment. Key Responsibilities

• Perform installations of solar panels, inverters, batteries, and other renewable energy components according to technical specifications and safety standards.
• Conduct diagnostic tests and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues with renewable energy systems.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
• Respond promptly to service calls and provide efficient on-site technical support to clients.
• Document all service activities, including repairs, maintenance performed, and parts used, in a clear and concise manner.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while working at customer sites and in the field.

Requirements

• Relevant technical qualification or certification in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related trade.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Field Service Technician, specifically with solar power systems .
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, solar PV technology, and battery storage solutions.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, and hand/power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Gauteng region.
