Electrical Engineer - Construction

About the Role

Our client is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer to manage and oversee electrical aspects of construction projects in Mahikeng. This role involves designing, implementing, and supervising electrical systems to ensure they meet project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including architects, project managers, and site engineers, to deliver high-quality electrical installations and infrastructure for various construction developments in the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems and layouts for construction projects according to specifications and codes.
• Supervise the installation and commissioning of electrical systems on construction sites.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to design, quality, and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues that arise during construction.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and as-built drawings.
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Eng Tech) registration with ECSA.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards (SANS, IEC), and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP) and relevant simulation tools.
• Experience in project management and site supervision is essential for projects in Mahikeng.
