About the Role

Our client is seeking a versatile Civil Engineer to focus on mining infrastructure projects in Upington , Northern Cape . This role involves the design, planning, and management of infrastructure essential for mining operations, such as access roads, water management systems, tailings storage facilities, and processing plant foundations. Key Responsibilities

• Design and oversee the construction of mining-related infrastructure, including roads, drainage, pipelines, and earthworks.
• Conduct site investigations and feasibility studies for new mine infrastructure projects.
• Ensure designs comply with stringent safety regulations, environmental standards, and mining industry best practices.
• Manage project execution, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with site personnel and contractors.
• Perform analyses related to earthworks, slope stability, and water management for mining operations.
• Collaborate with geologists, mining engineers, and environmental specialists to integrate infrastructure plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on mining infrastructure .
• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, GIS) and familiarity with mining-specific engineering principles.
• Strong understanding of geotechnical principles, earthworks, and water management in arid environments.
• Experience with project management and construction supervision in remote or challenging locations.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) registration with ECSA is advantageous.
