Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Technician to join their essential support team in Mossel Bay . This role is crucial for ensuring the operational readiness of all ground equipment used in aircraft handling, maintenance, and servicing operations. You will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of a diverse range of GSE, including tow tractors, belt loaders, power units, and more. This position offers a blend of workshop and on-the-ramp duties, contributing to the seamless functioning of aviation operations in a scenic coastal town.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of GSE, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repair solutions to minimize downtime.
• Conduct safety checks and inspections on all GSE to ensure compliance with operational standards and regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and repair histories in the GSE management system.
• Operate GSE safely and efficiently when required for testing or operational support.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanic or Technician, with a strong background in maintaining heavy machinery or vehicles.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting machinery issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good problem-solving skills.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to work in varying weather conditions in Mossel Bay .
