Payroll Specialist

Location: Kuils River, Cape Town | On-Site

We’re currently recruiting for a Payroll & Benefits Officer to join a busy People Support team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, highly organised and passionate about delivering accurate and efficient payroll and benefits administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end to end payroll and benefits function
• Prepare statutory submissions (monthly, bi-annual and annual)
• Process accurate and timeous monthly payrolls for hourly and salaried employees
• Administer payroll, benefits and leave systems
• Process earnings, deductions, allowances and employee changes
• Maintain employee records and payroll information on SAGE 300 People
• Handle payroll and employee benefit queries
• Prepare PAYE, UIF and SDL reconciliations
• Complete payroll-related GL and third-party reconciliations
• Assist with external payroll audits (DOL, PWC etc.) and monthly reporting
• Work with third-party benefit providers
• Administer Medical Aid, Medical Insurance, Gap Cover and Provident Fund benefits
• Process Provident Fund withdrawal forms upon termination
• Assist with UI19 and UI2.7 forms for terminations and maternity leave
• Assist with payroll compliance and related HR administration

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification - Payroll or HR (Degree or Diploma)
• Approximately 3 years’ payroll experience is essential
• Experience processing both hourly and salaried payroll
• SAGE 300 People experience is preferred but any payroll system experience is required
• Knowledge of PAYE, statutory compliance and payroll reconciliations
• Understanding of employee benefits and relevant labour legislation, including BCEA, Skills Development and Employment Equity
• Experience with SARS eFiling / EasyFile
• Experience with FNB Online Banking would be advantageous
