Senior Civil Engineer - Infrastructure Projects

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Civil Engineer to lead and contribute to significant infrastructure projects in and around Benoni. This role requires a professional with extensive experience in the design, planning, and execution of civil engineering works, including roads, bridges, water systems, and site development. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while adhering to all relevant regulations and safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent project management skills, and a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder relationships effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of civil infrastructure projects, from conceptualization to completion.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications for construction.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring efficient project delivery.
• Oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.
• Coordinate with clients, government agencies, contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration or eligibility is highly desirable.
• Proven experience with infrastructure projects such as roads, stormwater management, and earthworks.
• Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., "AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit").
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and relevant South African regulations.
