About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative engineering department in a fully remote capacity, supporting operations near Mossel Bay. This pivotal role involves leading the conceptualization, design, and detailed engineering of mechanical components and systems for cutting-edge products. Key Responsibilities

• Spearhead the design and development of complex mechanical assemblies and components using advanced CAD software.
• Perform detailed engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, to validate designs.
• Create comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Collaborate closely with virtual cross-functional teams, including product management, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers on design best practices and problem-solving approaches.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Over 8 years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Expertise in utilizing advanced CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation software (FEA).
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex mechanical designs from concept to production.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials selection, and DFM/DFA principles.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, adapted for remote work.
