Senior Telecom Systems Administrator

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Telecom Systems Administrator to join their technical operations team in Stellenbosch . This role involves the management, maintenance, and optimization of the company's telecommunications systems, ensuring high availability and performance. You will be responsible for system upgrades, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing best practices to enhance the reliability and security of communication infrastructure. This position offers a blend of on-site and remote work, providing flexibility while ensuring critical systems are managed effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain voice and data communication systems, including PBX, VoIP, and mobile platforms.
• Monitor system performance, proactively identify potential issues, and implement preventative measures.
• Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations.
• Respond to and resolve technical support tickets related to telecom systems.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, operational procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
• Collaborate with IT teams to integrate telecom solutions with other business systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Telecom Systems Administrator .
• Strong knowledge of VoIP technologies, SIP protocols, and associated hardware/software.
• Experience with network infrastructure and security principles.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting complex telecom issues.
